Criminal Background Check
A criminal background check shows an individual’s criminal records. This includes arrests, convictions of felonies and misdemeanors, court records (including dockets, orders, decrees, judgments, etc.), outstanding warrants, sex offenses, and incarceration records. Due to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a criminal background check cannot show civil suits or arrests more than seven years in the past. However, criminal convictions stay indefinitely. A standard “background check” typically includes a criminal background check in addition to other personal details.
